This website is operated by Kilvora Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13761116. Kilvora is the name under which we provide Microsoft Fabric architecture and engineering services.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

What this notice covers

This notice explains what happens to personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us.

It does not cover personal data we handle inside a client’s own systems during a paid engagement. In that situation we act as a processor on the client’s instructions, and the arrangement is governed by the contract for that work. Our Data Protection Statement explains how that works.

Data collected automatically when you visit

Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. This is standard for websites and is used to keep the site secure and to diagnose faults.

Cookies. Most of this site uses only the cookies necessary to make pages load and keep it secure. The booking page contains an embedded scheduling calendar which sets its own cookies, and that loads only if you agree to it. Our Cookie Policy sets this out in full.

Visitor numbers. We look at aggregated traffic statistics produced by our hosting provider from the server logs described above, to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. This involves nothing being stored on or read from your device, and we do not use analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or visitor profiling tools.

Search performance. We use Google Search Console to see which search terms bring people to this site and how our pages appear in search results. It reports aggregated data only and does not identify individual visitors.

Data you give us

If you email us, or use a contact link on this site, we receive whatever you send. Typically that is your name, email address, the organisation you work for, and a description of the problem you want help with.

We use this to reply, to discuss whether the work is a good fit, and to keep an ordinary record of the conversation.

Our booking page uses Calendly, an external scheduling service, embedded within the page. If you choose a time and complete the booking, Calendly collects the details you enter and passes them to us so the meeting can be arranged. Depending on the questions asked, that will include your name, work email address, organisation, job title, a description of your current Microsoft Fabric position, the subjects you would like to discuss, and anything else you choose to tell us.

Calendly acts as our processor for that booking and also operates as a controller for its own purposes, which are governed by its own privacy policy. Calendly is based in the United States, so this information is transferred outside the UK under the safeguards Calendly has in place. The scheduling calendar does not load at all unless you agree to it, and if you would rather not use it you can email us instead.

We do not add enquiry contacts to a mailing list and we do not send unsolicited marketing.

Our lawful bases for processing

• Legitimate interests. Replying to business enquiries, keeping this website secure and working, and keeping normal business records. We have considered your interests and consider this processing to be within your reasonable expectations when you contact a business.
• Performance of a contract. Where you become a client, the processing needed to scope, deliver, and administer the engagement.
• Legal obligation. Where we are required to keep records for tax, accounting, or other statutory purposes.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Personal data may be handled by the suppliers this business runs on:

• Our website hosting provider, in respect of hosting and server logs
• Our email and productivity provider, in respect of email and calendar
• Google, in respect of search performance data for this site
• Calendly, where you use the booking page to arrange a call
• Our accountant, where correspondence forms part of the company’s financial records
• Our professional advisers and insurers, where necessary, for example in relation to a claim

We may also disclose data where we are required to by law. We will tell you the identity of any of these suppliers on request.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the suppliers above process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU to US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep data

• Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Client records and correspondence: for the duration of the engagement, and 6 years afterwards, in line with normal accounting and limitation periods.
• Server logs: as set by our hosting provider, typically a short period.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy
• correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
• delete data where we no longer have a reason to keep it
• restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
• transfer it to you or to another provider in a portable format, where that right applies

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we have a chance to put it right. Email emmanuel@kilvora.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
